How to replace a toilet cistern

Toilet cisterns hold the water needed to flush a toilet. There are three types of cisterns in Australia: Bottom Inlet, Back Entry, and Concealed. Your cistern will need to be replaced if it leaks. It may be surprising to learn that this isn't a difficult or time-consuming task.

There are many great brands like Tapron, Grohe, and Screwfix. A concealed cistern is another option worth considering. These cisterns are space-saving alternatives to traditional cistern designs. How can I get rid of an old toilet cistern?

Turn off the water tap to your cistern. Next, unscrew your water inlet pipe at the bottom of the cistern. After this step is complete, you can take out the bolts and nuts that attach the cistern to the toilet bowl. After all washers, nuts and bolts have been removed, the cistern can be lifted from the toilet bowl.

How do you install a new toilet tank cistern?

Once your old cistern is removed, you can now plan how to install your new one. You must ensure that the cistern is aligned correctly and that the water inlet pipe has been properly reattached. Plumbers tape can be used to cover the inlet of your new cistern. After everything is in order and all connections are reattached correctly, you can turn on your water supply. Before you continue, make sure to inspect the new cistern for any leaks.
